Our Mission
Thiên Ân Performing Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving Vietnamese culture by empowering youth and uniting communities through traditional lion dance, drumming, and performance. We provide a safe, inclusive space where young people build discipline, confidence, and cultural pride. Every performance helps fund costumes, instruments, and scholarships that keep our heritage alive for the next generation.

“Thiên” in Vietnamese means heaven, and “Ân” means blessings. Therefore, Thiên Ân Performing Arts’ (TAPA) mission is to share our BLESSINGS with others through our unique forms of dance, drum, and lion dance.
WHO WE ARE
For 20 years, Thiên Ân Performing Arts has been Southern California's premier Vietnamese lion-dance and drumming company. What began as a handful of passionate individuals that want to preserve the Vietnamese culture through dances in 2005 has grown into a multigenerational organization that fuses time-honored tradition with modern showmanshipcaptivating audiences from communities across nation.

In 2005, Thiên Ân Performing Arts was born from a simple idea: to keep Vietnamese tradition alive through lion-dance and drumming. What started as a small group of just 10 passionate students practicing in borrowed parking lots and garages has blossomed into a dynamic organization of 100+ performers spanning all ages and skill levels.

Over the last two decades, Thiên Ân has grown into Southern California's leading Vietnamese performing arts group, known for blending tradition with innovation. We've performed everywhere from community gatherings, local festivals and cultural parades to wedding celebrations, earning recognition for our precision, heart, and showmanship.

Our journey has been powered by the community from supportive parents and dedicated alumni to generous sponsors and event partners. We've raised up generations of youth, many of whom returned as
instructors and mentors, committed to passing on their culture and pride.

Now, as we marked 20 years of preserving heritage and empowering the next generations, we reflect with pride-and look ahead with purpose. This milestone isn't just a celebration of where we've been, but a recommitment to where we're going.
